The OBD-II Port for AI
US Patent Application 19/637,714 • 36 claims, 7 independent • Track One • Filed April 2, 2026 • Elias Moosman
Progressive stopped asking "are you a safe driver?"
and plugged a dongle into the engine.

We did the same for AI.
The first hardware instrument that turns AI hallucination into a dollar figure an insurer can price.

The $0 Market

AI LIABILITY INSURANCE
$0
Written globally. The risk cannot be priced because the risk cannot be measured.
VERIFICATION GAP
30-40%
Of $8.5T AI infrastructure spend goes to the gap between "did the AI do this" and "can we prove it."
CYBER INSURANCE COMP
$2B→$14B
Cyber insurance 2015→2025. AI liability will be larger. First mover creates the market.

What the Patent Does

EVERY AI TODAY

Fetch the data from memory.

Then verify it is correct.

Two separate operations. The gap between them is where every hallucination lives. Peter becomes Paul between fetch and check.

vs
THIS PATENT (S=P=H)

Fetch IS verify.

Position = meaning. The cache hit IS the truth.

One operation. Zero gap. The silicon catches drift before the software layer processes the mismatch. Hardware attestation, not self-report.

The output: A cryptographic trust artifact {Rc, TSC, CAS_result} — structural certainty + timestamp + hardware verification result. This is the OBD-II reading for AI. Not a confidence score. A telemetry reading from the silicon. Unforgeable. The first actuarial primitive for AI drift.

The Moat

PATENT PORTFOLIO

36 claims, 7 independent. Track One (priority examination).

6 provisionals filed (Apr 2025 – Mar 2026) forming priority chain. No competing filing addresses hardware-level AI identity verification.

The instrument is patented. The physics is published. The hardware blueprint is open. Anyone can build the node. Nobody can build the measurement without the license.

WHY NOBODY ELSE HAS THIS

Vector databases — approximate proximity, not position.

RAG filters — catch wrong retrievals, not silent displacement.

RLHF — trains the output, not the substrate.

Checksums — verify bits, not placement.

None produce a hardware-derived actuarial signal. We are the only filing that does.

How It Makes Money

THE RAZOR (FREE)

Genesis Node hardware blueprint

Open-source. Zero royalty. Anyone can build the subsea compute pod. The hardware is democratized.

+
THE BLADE (LICENSED)

FIM Trust Layer firmware

Patent-protected. Runs on any bare metal. The firmware IS the measurement. Without it, the node is a data center. With it, the node is an insurable asset.

FIRMWARE LICENSE
$120K
/year per node. Founding cohort: $30K (75% rebate).
TRUST CERTIFICATIONS
$500K
/year per node. $2,500 per cert × ~200 certs/year. Third-party workload verification.
COMPUTE REVENUE
$520K
/year per node. 12 racks, 85% occupancy. Trust-verified premium: +40% over standard colo.
Per-node annual revenue: $1.02M – $1.17M. Per-node annual OpEx: $305K (off-grid) – $470K (grid). Net per node: $550K – $835K/year. The firmware cost is zero marginal — same firmware across the entire fleet. Revenue scales linearly. Cost scales sublinearly.

Unit Economics

PILOT (1 NODE)

CapEx: $4.4M (off-grid, wave+Starlink)

After 5-yr MACRS + 30% ITC: ~$1.85M effective

Annual net: $835K

Payback: 2.2 years (after tax) / 5.3 years (pre-tax)

20-year return: 6.6x on invested capital

FLEET (100 NODES)

CapEx per node: $1.8M (shared infrastructure)

Annual net per node: $835K+

Payback: <2 years per node

Fleet revenue: $100M+/year

Firmware licensing alone: $12M/year (100 nodes × $120K)

Zero-inventory, zero-manufacturing. Operators build the hulls. We license the measurement.

The forcing function: EU AI Act Article 14 requires "the ability to correctly interpret high-risk AI output." Software self-reporting cannot satisfy this — the regulation's own language excludes it. Every enterprise deploying high-risk AI must have hardware-level verification by August 2, 2026. We are the only patent that provides it. The deadline is not negotiable.

Exit Scenarios

INSURANCE ACQUISITION
Munich Re, Swiss Re, WTW acquire the measurement. They need the actuarial primitive to create the market. Comp: cyber insurance acquisitions 2015-2020.
CLOUD / INFRASTRUCTURE
Equinix, CoreWeave, Rackspace license or acquire the firmware for their existing fleet. The firmware runs on any bare metal — not just Genesis Nodes.
DEFENSE / SOVEREIGN
DoD, NEOM, Mubadala need hardware-verified AI for autonomous systems. The Genesis Node is deployable at any coast with zero land infrastructure. Sovereign compute.
Zero-inventory, zero-manufacturing licensing business.
Operators build the hulls. We own the measurement.
The regulation creates the demand. The patent creates the moat.
The first carrier to price the signal creates the market.
