Coase (1937): firms exist to amortize the transaction cost of verifying trust, not to produce goods. Once a recomputable receipt makes verifying a stranger's competence free (reach = verify), that transaction cost collapses toward zero — and with it the firm's monopoly on trust, and the incentive to generalize instead of specialize. New section between "The Grounding Tax" and "Unity Predicts Survival"; ties Ch6's undecidability-of-a-résumé back to the same Rice's-theorem argument already made for models.
