SCALE-INVARIANT by construction (the JS absolute thresholds DRIFT_ABS/gap/minLit exploded dense panels into giant overlapping ovals — the demo bug): every gate is a fraction of local lit mass, clustering is connected-components with a tight box, the dominant carpet never becomes a panel-spanning oval, and an invariant line is gated on contiguous fill (~0.9) not span (blob columns stretched by a crossing are gappy ~0.2). Level-invariant coord labeling deferred. Guard (the deliverable): tests/pmu-simulator/regions-rust-matches-js.test.mjs — Rust drift regions === JS golden exactly, no giant oval, boxes in-bounds, and a stable drift signature across 3×/sparser density. Chip-not-built → skips, never silently passes on a mismatch. The JS email path is UNTOUCHED (stays or improves); the email flip is a separate commit gated on this guard being green.
