The 2026-07-11 A/B (morning=individual experiment vs evening=bcc control) is
settled: individual works better. Both arms — 7am and 5pm — now send ONE EMAIL
PER RECIPIENT (To: the person, per-recipient link tokens → click connects to
email+IP+geo in email_events). The arm alternation keeps running for TIMING
comparison only; 'bcc' survives solely as an explicit BOOKCLUB_SEND_MODE=bcc
override. Per-recipient progress idempotency (sends/<day>.progress.ndjson)
stays load-bearing — a self-heal retry can never re-blast served recipients.

Guard in the SAME commit: bookclub-send-throttle.test.js pins the decision —
default mode 'individual', mode no longer derivable from BOOKCLUB_ARM.

actor seed B3,B1 — Bandwidth limits of a signal determine the speed and tempo beats of the message broadcast. Signal-to-noise is the inverse cube of bandwidth — narrow the channel, the message arrives; broaden it, recipients tune out. The right channel is the one whose floor matches the message's importance. Latency is the price of a missed beat. Every hundred milliseconds of round-trip turns a parallel race into a stalemate, because the first arrival sets the rules the second arrival has to honor. A broadcast that addresses everyone addresses no one. Precision over reach until the address is calibrated; only then does scale convert prospects into recipients rather than into unsubscribes. The 2026-07-11 A/B (morning=individual experiment vs evening=bcc control) is
settled: individual works better. Both arms — 7am and 5pm — now send ONE EMAIL
PER RECIPIENT (To: the person, per-recipient link tokens → click connects to
email+IP+geo in email_events). The arm alternation keeps running for TIMING
comparison only; 'bcc' survives solely as an explicit BOOKCLUB_SEND_MODE=bcc
override. Per-recipient progress idempotency (sends/<day>.progress.ndjson)
stays load-bearing — a self-heal retry can never re-blast served recipients.

Guard in the SAME commit: bookclub-send-throttle.test.js pins the decision —
default mode 'individual', mode no longer derivable from BOOKCLUB_ARM.
